To mark the home entertainment release of Independence Day: Resurgence, our man James Kleinmann got to attend a very special event in Los Angeles hosted by Director Roland Emmerich and Oscar winning VFX Supervisor Volker Engel for the sequel to their huge 1996 movie Independence Day.
As well as attending a Q&A, James got to see a fabulous batch of concept art and props from the movie and sit down with the ‘master of disaster’ to find out what we can expect from the release. Roland also gives us a little inside info on a Jeff Goldblum ad-lib that made it into the movie while here in London.
They also talk about their favourite CG moments, which shot they were most proud of from the new movie and how times have changed since the original film in 1996 and what they had to change in this movie 20 years on that would keep audiences as entertained as they were in the original.
Independence Day: Resurgence is on Blu-ray and DVD Monday 14th November.
