Jason Blum is one of the leading lights of 21st century horror movies, with fingerprints on some of the most potent franchises in the genre. His high earning, low budget horrorshows include the Paranormal Activity series, Insidious’ 1, 2 & 3 and Sinister. Now he is moving online, producing Levan Gabriadze’s Unfriended, a modern scarefest told through the computer screens and skype calls of a group of PYTs.

Given how important the internet is to our lives it seems ripe for Blum’s attention, and with Nacho Vigalondo’s Open Windows it is one of many films taking up away from the CCTV/handheld footage craze which looks to be quieting down. Time will tell.

We have interviews (conducted via Skype, of course) with the cast up shortly, for now he’s our time with Jason Blum. Unfriended is out in cinemas on the 1st of May.

Brenden Toda asked the question, and proposed an interesting idea for a sequel (which Blum politely declines…), here’s the full interview.
