Last week, I got to attend the press junket for the new Harry Potter Studio Tour at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire. As well as talking with many of the cast of the movies (see previous interviews here), we got to chat with the man behind many of the special effects that we see in the ten movies, John Richardson (Special Effects Supervisor).

During the interview, I find out how the technology has changed over the course of the ten years of movie making and also show my ignorance when it comes to the fact that Mad Eye Moody has a seat on his broomstick. He also tells me about how the broomsticks are made safe and how special effects works so closely with the visual effects teams and just like his colleagues, I asked John if he’s rather drive the flying Ford Anglia or the Knight Bus.

If you missed our coverage of the Tour, you can catch up here.
