This Valentine’s, Endless Love is perhaps the only major straight romantic movie choice of the weekend, giving Universal a distinct advantage over other studios competing for those seeking a date night movie at the cinema.
The studio launched the first trailer a few months back, and with its arrival just over a month away, they’ve released the final US trailer.
Endless Love stars Alex Pettyfer (Magic Mike) and Gabriella Wilde (The Three Musketeers) in the story of a privileged girl and a charismatic boy whose instant desire sparks a love affair made only more reckless by parents trying to keep them apart.
Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde lead the cast, with the leading duo joined by Bruce Greenwood, Robert Patrick, Joely Richardson, Rhys Wakefield, Dayo Okeniyi, and Emma Rigby.
Country Srong’s Shana Feste is behind the camera here, directing from a script she co-wrote with Joshua Safran (Gossip Girl, Smash), with the latter making his feature debut as a writer.
Endless Love will be released in the US and UK on Valentine’s Day, February 14th. The competition is pretty high, with RoboCop giving a blockbuster alternative, and Winter’s Tale, Vampire Academy, and About Last Night all offering some romance to varying degrees, and it will be interesting to see how the numbers rack up by the end of the weekend.
