Released back in 2007, Enchanted ended up being a surprise hit for Disney at the time. A live-action take on their classic animated feature formula, it earned an impressive $340 million worldwide, and fans of the movie (which has become something of a cult favourite) have been wondering why exactly the studio hasn’t given a sequel the green light.

The potential for a follow-up is huge, but has too much time now passed? Alan Menken’s songs for Enchanted received three Oscar nominations, and that kind of positive buzz alone should have seen a sequel happen long before now. Well, regardless, it’s finally on the way!

According to a new report, Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) is still attached to direct the Enchanted sequel, while Disney are said to be looking over the script in order to get it just right before officially moving forward on the follow-up. Oh, and it may have a title too:

Disenchanted.

Well, that’s better than Enchanted 2 anyway, right? What isn’t clear is who from the original cast would return for the movie, especially as original lead Amy Adams has gone on to find great success in other projects since. We’ll just have to wait and see, but will hopefully know more soon! Does an Enchanted sequel interest you? Let us know your thoughts below.
