Empire have scored an exclusive this week by debuting some brand new artwork from the hugely anticipated Marvel Studios sequel Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2, which hits our screens in around eight months time.

The new image showcases our intrepid team of inter-galactic heroes taking on a multi-tenticled space creature which suggests the film is going to be even bigger than the first and could be one of Marvel’s biggest hits yet.

Chris Pratt (Peter Quill / Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket) and Vin Diesel (Groot) return as the Guardians, re-joined by Karen Gillan (Nebula), Michael Rooker (Yondu) and Sean Gunn (Kraglin).

Joining the fun this time are Pom Klementieff (Oldboy) as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.), Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight) as Ego and Sylvester Stallone (Creed) in an unconfirmed role.

Directed once again by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2 opens on May 5th 2017.
