The franchise that just keeps giving and giving and giving, Fast and Furious, has set a further two films in stone with Fast and Furious 9 and 10 confirmed along with two leading stars of the franchise, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson signing up for those two outings.

Coming swiftly of the back of the news that the latest in the saga, Fast and Furious 8, broke the record for the biggest worldwide opening weekend at the box office this past week has only proved it still has a major attraction for cinema-going audiences, making everyone involved from the studio to the actors rubbing their hands together in glee and probably thinking shall we really stop at ten?

It has been confirmed that Fast & Furious 9 and 10 have been confirmed for 19 April 2019 and 2 April 2021, respectively.

Questions were raised as to whether Fast 8 would be Johnson’s final curtain – for those not seen it yet look away now – as he declared to his daughter he would be hanging up his over-sized driving gloves so he could spend more time with his family at the end of the film. However, the news that he won’t be going anywhere will delight fans of the franchise as between himself and Jason Statham really made the latest venture worth watching.

With the news that the supposedly feuding actors (we reckon it was all just a publicity stunt to get people hyped up for the latest film), Diesel and Johnson, signing up for what could be the swan song’s of the saga its only a matter of time before we see the rest of the Fast family that includes Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel and Jason Statham signing on the dotted line to appear as well.
