The first teaser trailer landed for Divergent over the summer, and things have quickly started to look very good for Summit, who will be keen to set up a new franchise following the conclusion of Twilight last year.
Due to hit cinemas in the spring next year, the film marks the first adaptation of Veronica Roth’s best-selling series of novels. And now Yahoo Movies has launched the first character posters, which see Shailene Woodley and Theo James showing off their characters’ tattoo ink as Tris and Four.
DIVERGENT is a thrilling action-adventure film set in a future where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities. Tris Prior (Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it’s too late.
Based on the best-selling book series by Veronica Roth.
Starring alongside the leading duo is a great ensemble, headed up by Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Kate Winslet, Ashley Judd, Mekhi Phifer, Maggie Q, Zoe Kravitz, Ray Stevenson, Ansel Elgort, Christian Madsen, Amy Newbold, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, and Ben Lamb.
Neil Burger (Limitless) is at the helm, and he’s directing from a script written by Evan Daugherty (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Vanessa Taylor (Game of Thrones).
Divergent will be released in regular and IMAX cinemas on March 21st, 2014 in the UK and US. In the meantime, here are the first two character posters, which you can click through to enlarge.
