Wait? Did we actually just type out that headline?! Believe it or not, Twentieth Century Fox have finally given Deadpool a release date and it’s set to reach the big screen on February 12th, 2016.

Tim Miller is still attached to direct, and Ryan Reynolds is expected to star in the long delayed movie.

Though various sites caution that no deal is in place, who else could play the Merc With the Mouth at this point and be welcomed by fans with open arms? Reynolds has been a fan favourite choice to play the character for a number of years, and he would do so in a wasted X-Men Origins: Wolverine cameo.

With this incredibly exciting news comes the disappointing announcement that The Fantastic Four has been delayed. However, we won’t have to wait too much longer for Josh Trank’s (Chronicle) reboot as it will now land on August 7th, 2015 instead of the originally announced June 19th, 2015.

If that August date sounds familiar, it’s because it used to belong to Assassin’s Creed. Fox’s ambitious big screen adaptation of Ubisoft’s popular video game series has Michael Fassbender attached to star, but it’s been moved from there to “undated”, effectively putting the project in limbo for the time being.
