Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hasn’t even been released yet, but it’s already been confirmed that Warner Bros. intends to make as many as five instalments of the franchise. That’s a gutsy move, especially as the studio has no idea whether or not this one will be a hit. Still, the first wave of reviews have been positive, so they’re off to a good start!

Regardless, Fantastic Beasts director David Yates has revealed that he intends to take the helm of each and every one of them. That will come as good news to those of you that enjoyed his Harry Potter movies, but perhaps less so if you’re among those who believe that the wizarding world could do with a new set of eyes to help freshen things up a little.

J.K. Rowling made her screenwriting debut with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and is currently working on the sequel. Chances are that she too will return for all five instalments, but for now, we do know that Yates is committed to the entire series. Of course, if the movie underperforms like Tarzan did, big changes may be made by Warner Bros.

We’ll have to wait and see, but anticipation for Fantastic Beasts does seem to be high. Are you excited to potentially see Yates in charge of this franchise for the foreseeable future?
