After announcing that Jeff Bridges will be starring in their remake of the 1969 John Wayne vehicle True Grit, about a U.S. Marshall (the role marked out for Bridges) who is joined by a Lawman in his hunt for the killer of a young girl’s father, deep in Indian terrority. Matt Damon is in talks to play the lawman who accompanies Bridges character, splendidly named Rooster Cogburn, and Josh Brolin is talking to the Coens to return to the fold as the killer they hunt.
