It was revealed last month that James Corden and Rose Byrne had landed two of the lead roles in Sony Pictures’ upcoming live-action/CGI adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit, and now the cast has made two impressive casting additions in the form of Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2).

Will Gluck (Annie) is set to direct Peter Rabbit from a script by both him and Rob Lieber.

Details on who Ridley and Debicki are playing have not been revealed, though it has been mentioned that they’re voice roles, so don’t expect to see them making a physical appearance here. Similarly, plot details are also being kept under wraps, so we really don’t know what to expect from this take on Peter Rabbit or how it will update the original tales.

Shooting is expected to begin in January as the movie takes aim at an April 2018 release.

This news also comes hot on the heels of the announcement that Sony is teaming up with Frederick Warne & Co., Beatrix Potter’s longtime publisher, to co-produce the movie. “I am delighted to be teaming up with Frederick Warne,” says Gluck. “Their expertise and stewardship is absolutely critical to making a film that honours the legacy of Beatrix Potter.”
