When Creed dropped back in 2015 it could have gone oh-so-badly for the Rocky spin-off. But with a return to the roots of what made the southpaw from Philadelphia great a thirst for more screen time for the son of Apollo Creed couldn’t have been more prominent.

So with a Creed 2 already announced, Sylvester Stallone has been leaving subtle little hints on his social media accounts over the possible future route Creed 2 could be taking in its next battle with a nod and a wink to that fateful ding dong with the Russian Drago. Cleverly photoshopping the image of Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed in a face off against the man who killed his father, Stallone has well and truly set the tongues wagging.

It looks as though Stallone has hinted at the storyline in a previous post which has past most by, in fact if you look at his Instagram account it looks as though he has been taking a trip down nostalgia lane with images of directing both Carl Weathers who played Apollo and Dolph Lundgren who played Drago as well as pictures of the men in the ring in the fourth instalment of the Rocky franchise.

In Rocky IV, the Soviet Union and their top boxer make an entrance into professional boxing with their best athlete Ivan Drago, who initially wants to take on World Champion Rocky Balboa. Rocky’s best friend Apollo Creed decides to fight him instead but is fatally beaten in the ring. Enraged, Rocky decides to fight Drago in the Soviet Union to avenge his friend and defend the honour of his country.

Even though no director has been attached or a release date set for the Creed sequel, Stallone is looking all set to get the ball rolling with an outline of its direction.
