Deadline has reported that Robin Wright is currently in negotiations to play Erika Berger, the publisher of Millennium Magazine, in the English language adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

She is also the same character who occasionally falls in love with Mikael Blomkvist, the journalist who will be played by Daniel Craig, in Stieg Larsson’s trilogy.

Wright is in negotiations for all three films, the second and third will be options in case she decides she won’t make enough money from the first one.   Yeah, right.

If she lands the part it would be an obvious move to stay on for the trilogy because, if done right, these films will make tons of money and be on course to match the original film’s critical success and Wright will enjoy a turn under the spotlight.  Can’t say the same for the upcoming Moneyball film though.

David Fincher is set to direct the film with production starting this fall in hopes of a Dec. 21, 2011 release.

Keep an eye out for the casting of Lisbeth Salander, the heroine hacker from the novels, which has generated a lot of speculation in recent weeks.
