After helming The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Morten Tyldum has now set his sights on Sony’s space drama Passengers which is coincidentally being written by Doctor Strange scribe Jon Spaihts.

Apparently, Passengers is set on a spacecraft in the future with thousands of passengers making an interstellar voyage to a distant new planet. One passenger awakens from cryogenic sleep 90 years before anyone else and decides to wake up a female passenger, sparking the beginning of a love story.

The project has been in development for quite some time, with everyone from Keanu Reeves to Reese Witherspoon and Rachel McAdams attached to star at one point or another. However, it has now been revealed that Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games) and Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) are in talks.

The charismatic duo would certainly be interesting to watch together on the big screen, that’s for sure!

It’s still early days, but it’s already thought that Lawrence’s busy schedule could stop her from signing up to star in Passengers. After all, she has X-Men: Apocalypse, Joy, and The Drop all on the way. Pratt is also busy.

This shows the kind of calibre of actor they’re looking for, but here’s hoping we get Lawrence/Pratt!
