Jason Blum and his Blumhouse operation have shepherded some fine modern horror films in recent years, offering young directors the chance to take their vision to the big screen. The latest offering is a schoolbound found footage chiller from the minds of writer/directors Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing – The Gallows.

A misguided attempt to restage a high school play which ended in tragedy twenty years ago is being sabotaged by current students. In their attempt to wreck the production things, as they are wont to do, go very badly wrong.

We’re have a special reader’s competition running this week to win tickets to see The Gallows, on us before general release, on the 13th of July – you can enter that right here.

To get you up to speed with this shocking new film we’ve got a collection of clips and the film’s trailer along with a neat little featurette on how the film went from a proof of concept trailer to being one of the flagship horror titles for Warner Bros.
