Last night London’s Leicester Square saw the re-premiere of probably the most classic British sporting film of all time, Chariots of Fire. As well as members of the original cast such as Nigel Havers, Ben Cross and Alice Krige a host of British Olympic athletes were there to celebrate what the film had meant to them and also the upcoming London 2012 Olympics.

Under the dark and brooding skies that have become the hallmark of this summer Ben Mortimer and I braved the occasional monsoon (see our montage video below) to bring you interviews as diverse as recollections of the film’s original release through to opinions on the Olympic ticketing process, though you’ll have to watch them to find out who said what. The last, and most torrential, downpour saw off Ben Cross otherwise we were hoping that aside from talking about Chariots of Fire he might have divulged something about Star Trek… another day, perhaps…
