Pre-production has begun on Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds revealed that with a photo of the Merc With The Mouth’s iconic mask), and now some character breakdowns have found their way online which potentially reveal the movie’s supporting cast. Actual names aren’t used, but some are still fairly easy to figure out!
Considering the fact that Colossus is being lined up for a role in Deadpool, it appears as if the script which leaked online a few years back is still being used, something else which helps to figure out who is who.
- [RIDGE] Any ethnicity, early 30s to early 50s. Big, muscular, dangerous, violent, vain, insecure and more than a bit of a dick…. but with a sense of humor. He is not a psychopath, he’s practical but morally neutral—he doesn’t enjoy torturing people, he just doesn’t care. ROLE REQUIRES THREE SEQUEL OPTIONS.
- [LINDSAY] Any ethnicity, 20s, attractive and worldly. Smart, tough, beautiful but a little bit broken. Nothing has ever been easy for her and she’s developed a thick skin and cynical outlook. But she’s not a victim—she may not have a great life but she’s holding it together and does what she needs to get by. She’s got a great sense of humor but it leans heavily towards irony and sarcasm. “Ridge” sounds an awful lot like classic Deadpool villain T-Ray, while “Lindsay” is probably Copycat, a character who serves as a love interest in Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick’s leaked script.
“Simon” has to be Weasel, the guy who provides Deadpool with tech and weapon advice, while the older lady “Shirlie” must be Blind Al, the mercenary’s bizarre roommate who he has a love/hate relationship with. Unfortunately, the final three are a little vague, but the movie is shaping up to be unique, that’s for sure!
