It’s been a while since we saw anything from X-Men: Apocalypse, but director Bryan Singer has been keeping fans updated via Instagram with various casting additions and concept art (including a first look at Angel).

However, he’s now released our first official look at the young Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler. The character was played by Alan Cumming in X-2: X-Men United, and we can see this younger version teleporting in and out of the video below. This one definitely bears more of a resemblance to his comic book counterpart, though whether or not that’s the costume he’ll wear as part of the X-Men remains to be seen.

As well as returning cast members James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Ian McKellen, X-Men: Apocalypse will also introduce Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Lana Condor, Oscar Isaac, Ben Hardy, Olivia Munn, and a number of others. It’s a long list!

X-Men Apocalypse is set to be released on May 27th, 2016. Which mutants do we most want to see in Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past follow-up? Well, you can find that out by clicking right here.
