The upcoming horror remake, Evil Dead, went to NYCC earlier this month and had the audiences really impressed with the footage they were treated to.

We got a great first image from the film last week, and now Sony have released a sneak peek at the teaser trailer, which is set to drop tomorrow. And if it’s anything like this first sneak peek, it’s going to be a lot of fun.

“In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

Jane Levy takes the lead in the rather promising remake, starring alongside Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Elizabeth Blackmore, with original director Sam Raimi and lead Bruce Campbell both serving as producers.

Fede Alvarez is making his feature directorial debut, directing from a script he wrote with past collaborator Rodo Sayagues Mendez, with Diablo Cody hired for a revision last year.

Evil Dead is set for release in the UK and US next spring on 12th April, 2013, and if tomorrow’s teaser lives up to this first sneak peek, it’s definitely going to be a date to commit to memory. For now, here’s the first look at the film, and be sure to come back tomorrow for the teaser in full.
