Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has soared past all expectations with a huge $170m+ first week at the box office. It was always clear that the combination of a much loved classic returning to the big screen and the star power of Emma Watson would yield a solid financial bounty, but that’s a huge amount of cash.

It bodes well for the studio’s continued pledge to adapt their catalogue of animated classics and we can look forward to The Lion King, Mulan and Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin in the next few years.

While we watch eagerly for those as they approach over the horizon we’re keeping our focus on Bill Condon’s latest, and these two simply gorgeous new posters for Beauty and the Beast today. We’ve featured the work of artist Matt Ferguson before now. Last November we had the exclusive on his capital work for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and they are well worth a look.
