You may remember that back when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Star Wars: The Force Awakens were shooting at the same time, directors Zack Snyder and J.J. Abrams exchanged some fun mashups paying homage to each other’s movies. We saw photographs of Stormtroopers being arrested for stealing the Batmobile and that iconic vehicle sneakily incorporated into the life-sized Millennium Falcon, but Snyder is once again back at it!
To mark the upcoming release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Snyder has shared a trailer for Dark Side Knight vs. Superjedi: Dawn of the Alliance. Using footage from Batman v Superman, it’s packed full of references to the world of Star Wars and was cut together by the filmmaker over a year ago (he has been a bit busy this year with Justice League).
It makes for fun viewing, especially if you try to pick out all of the Easter Eggs which have been included here. The Force Awakens obviously ended up crushing Batman v Superman in terms of both reviews and box office takings, but it’s good to see that Snyder is still up for sharing his love of the property. Of course, that begs the question of whether he might one day make the leap from the DC Films Universe to something in a Galaxy Far, Far Away…
