Had Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder faithfully adapted Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, the movie would have most definitely been R-Rated. However, we’ve known for a while now that the highly anticipated 2016 release is simply inspired by that classic graphic novel, and the fact it kicks off next year’s summer blockbuster season early means that it being PG-13 was always going to be the case.
So, what has Batman v Superman does to earn that rating? Well, the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) has revealed that it will contain “intense sequences of violence and action throughout” as well as “some sensuality”. What could that be referring to?
Well, it’s unlikely to be a sex scene and could actually be anything from a woman wearing a low cut top to kissing! With Clark Kent and Lois Lane living together in Batman v Superman following the beginnings of a romantic relationship in Man of Steel, chances are we’ll be seeing some romance between them, but based on the images we’ve seen of Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince (a.k.a. Wonder Woman) together, there could be something there too!
