Continuing his run with the Apatow crowd, Aziz Ansari is the latest to join the cast of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s upcoming epic comedy, The Apocalypse.

Written and directed by Rogen and Goldberg with co-writer Jason Stone, The Apocalypse follows two guys who take on the end of the world. Formerly known as Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse, confirmed cast members already include Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson and James Franco, all of whom will play themselves.

Ansari recently revealed that:

“I’m doing this thing in this movie, called ‘The Apocalypse.’ It’s Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride — and all those guys. Seth and Evan are directing it,” he continued. “And it’s basically all of us playing ourselves. Me, McBride, Jonah, Seth — everyone’s playing themselves, and the bit is James Franco’s having a party at his house, and the apocalypse starts happening.”

And that’s pretty much the same as what everybody else have been saying about the film over the past year.

Whilst Ansari has currently been making a name for himself in the TV series Parks and Recreation, this will be the actor and comedian’s first major big screen outing since his role in last year’s 30 Minutes or Less.

With no additional details on what else the film will entail, we will be able to see for ourselves on 14th June 2013 in the US, and we can expect to see it around this time in the UK too.
