Arrested-Development[UPDATED] After officially announcing its return late last year, Arrested Development Season 4 went into production back in August, and things couldn’t be looking better. There’s no doubt that this is going to be one of the best things television has to offer in 2013.

Netflix acquired the rights to the new season last year, and are set to make it available in its entirety on the same day. And now that date has been announced as 4th May.

So if you’re reading this in the US, you make sure that you go and watch Iron Man 3 on 3rd May, because you’re going to be too busy watching the awesomeness that is Arrested Development that Saturday.

Along with the season’s premiere date, the names of the episodes are reported to have been leaked, though have since officially been taken down. But via the folks at Bleeding Cool, you can see that they make good on the original intention to have them each named after a character:

  • Michael 1
  • Michael 2
  • George Sr. 1
  • George Sr. 2
  • Lindsay 1
  • Lindsay 2
  • Tobias
  • Gob
  • Maeby
  • Lucille
  • Buster
  • George Michael 1
  • George Michael 2
  • Gob 2

One of the most obvious interesting things here is that we’ll have to wait until the end for Part II of Gob’s episode, and I have a feeling it’s going to be an immense close to the season.

Creator Mitch Hurwitz has said that the fourth season is going to be Act One of the Arrested Development movie, and that prospect couldn’t be better.

All of the original cast will be back for another outing as the Bluths/Fünkes, headed up by Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, Portia de Rossi, David Cross, Tony Hale, Jessica Walter, and Jeffrey Tambor, with Ron Howard of course returning to narrate.

And we’ll have guest stars aplenty, with Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter already seen in the first official image from Season 4. And joining them will be Judy Greer, Henry Winkler, Mae Whitman, Scott Biao, Jeff Garlin, Carl Weathers, and Liza Minnelli, with the great John Slattery cast in an as-yet-unknown role expected to recur through the season.

Arrested Development Season 4 will be airing on 4th May, 2013, so be sure to have your Netflix subscriptions primed and ready for the day, and avoid putting anything else into your calendar at all costs. This is going to be awesome.

[UPDATE:] Alas, it appears that the 4th May premiere date wasn’t accurate, and we are currently still without an official date for the season’s release on Netflix. Regardless, we’re immensely excited for whenever it does happen, and we wait with bated breath.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
