Ant-Man may have lost original director Edgar Wright, but with Peyton Reed now at the helm, the movie has assembled a very impressive cast which includes plenty of familiar names and faces.

Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne), and Corey Stoll (Yellowjacket) have all been confirmed, and a press release issued by Marvel today reveals the supporting cast, but unfortunately not the characters they will play in the highly anticipated movie.

That cast is made up of Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire), Michael Peña (End of Watch), Abby Ryder Fortson (Togetherness), Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight), Wood Harris (The Wire), John Slattery (Mad Men), Gregg Turkington (The Comedy) and T.I. (Takers).

One character we can guess will return is Howard Stark, someone Slattery previously appeared as in Iron Man 2. The young Abby Ryder Fortson is likely Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang, while Greer could be Janet Van Dyne, a.k.a. The Wasp, in Ant-Man’s 1960s set flashbacks. That’s all speculation as of right now of course.

A new synopsis for Ant-Man has also been revealed:

Based on the Marvel comic character first published in 1962, Marvel’s “Ant-Man” continues the lineage of epic big-screen adventures chronicled in Marvel’s “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 3,” “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” and the upcoming Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Shooting kicked off in San Francisco today and will later move to Atlanta, Georgia. Ant-Man is currently set to be released on July 17th, 2015. What are your thoughts on the newly revealed cast members?
