20th Century Fox have released another trailer for Rupert Wyatt’s forthcoming slice of simian cinema, the prequel Rise of the Planet of the Apes and not only is it the best yet it also gives audiences a clearer indication of how the story will play out.

The characters played by Tom Felton and John Lithgow are given a little more exposure here and the new footage contained herein focuses on the relationship between Lithgow’s ailing father to James Franco’s scientist and the young Caeser, the ape who leads the titular rise.

The work of the director, Andy Serkis and WETA has combined to make Caeser one of the most realistic CG characters ever seen and though the film is less than two months away there are server farms alive with activity as the race to render before the allotted release date continues.

What I saw last month at Fox astounded me, and this trailer is the clearest sign yet that they’ve achieved something amazing with the emotional power of their main attraction, and the few shots here, including the one used as a thumb for this article really do pound those heartstrings. The film is out in the UK on the 12th of August.
