It’s not too often that we get to see the year’s biggest movies before our friends across the Atlantic – Marvel movies tending to be a rare, and highly enjoyable, exception. Nevertheless, it looks like Paramount has decided to give us an early Christmas present by bringing forward ever so slightly the UK release date for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
The anticipated comedy sequel was previously to be released on 20th December, in line with its US release date. But now the studio has decided to release it two days early on 18th December, and with the 18th being a Wednesday, those of you on Orange/EE can take someone along for free (or half price, if you’re splitting the cost).
With the ’70s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” Also back for more are Ron’s co- anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fontana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) – All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy…while taking the nation’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.
Will Ferrell reprises his role as the now cult-classic character, Ron Burgundy, starring alongside Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, and David Koechner to take on the world of 24-hour news.
The leading quartet are joined by another stellar ensemble, led by Kristen Wiig, Christina Applegate, Greg Kinnear, Harrison Ford, Josh Lawson, Fred Willard, Chris Parnell, Luke Wilson, and Vince Vaughn, with plenty more cameos expected.
Adam McKay is once more at the helm with another script he co-wrote with Ferrell, and the two produce alongside Judd Apatow and Kevin Messick.
