Amazing Spider-Man 7

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will swing into UK cinemas in a little over three weeks from now, and the marketing campaign for the movie is really stepping up both here and in the US (where it will arrive a little later on May 2nd).

This week, Spider-Man is featured on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, and we see a suited up Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) embracing his on and off-screen girlfriend, Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy).

Even more interesting though is the brand new promo image of Dane DeHaan as the Green Goblin. The look for the iconic Marvel villain in this sequel has been criticised for a variety of reasons since it was first revealed, and while it’s clear that they’ve gone for a combination of costume and mutation, there’s no denying that his face very much resembles that of the mask worn by the classic version of the Green Goblin in the comic books over the years.

Of course, many fans are far more excited about the prospect of seeing Spider-Man battling it out with Harry’s father, Norman, in the third movie which is currently dated for 2016. What sort of appearance he’ll have if they make him the Green Goblin remains to be seen!

What do you guys think of this new take on the famous bad guy? Be sure to let us know in the usual place!

Green Goblin

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper and Paul Giamatti, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in the UK on 18th April and in the US on May 2nd.
