It may be Christmas day but that doesn’t halt the wheels of the movie marketing wagon, and today we’ll be decking the walls with gross-out gore as we get our first look at the trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien Covenant.
It’s been just under a week since we broke the news exclusively that James Franco would be joining the cast of Scott’s latest prequel/sequel. He joins Katherine Waterston (who has a potentially huge spoiler surrounding her appearance), Danny McBride, Demián Bichir and Billy Crudup. They’ll be joining by returning players Michael Fassbender (well, a number of him anyway) and Noomi Rapace from the previous film in the saga – Prometheus.
Little is known about the next chapter in the Alien saga. We’ve seen some very evocative photos from the film popping up on the Alien Covenant Facebook page showing what looks to be Colonial Marines about to charge, a dimly lit Gigeresque corridor lined with rib bones and the most recent which was of blood-splattered window. Waterston’s character has been compared to Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley and there’s a fair chance that the second film in this new Alien series could follow James Cameron’s Aliens by bringing all out war to the big screen once again.
We spoke to Ridley Scott earlier this month, and he called the film ‘a beast’. Sounds like the perfect description…

Synopsis
