With almost countless movies heading to television, there are almost just as many TV shows being adapted in some form for the big screen as well. One of them is Baywatch, the popular series which ran from 1989 to 2001 and starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, and now Paramount Pictures has set their sights on a possible female lead for this reboot.

Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief) is directing, while Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron have already been chosen to take on the lead make roles in the movie.

Among those being eyed for the female lead are  Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas), Ashley Benson (Elvis & Nixon), Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men Apocalypse), Shelley Hennig (Teen Wolf), Bianca Santos (The Duff) and Denyse Tontz (Big Time Rush). That’s obviously a very beautiful group of actresses, but you have to believe that whoever gets chosen will end up doing more than just being there to look good!

As unnecessary as a Baywatch movie may seem, there’s no denying that there’s a lot of potential for this franchise to work as an action comedy of hybrid of some sort, and the involvement of Johnson already makes it massively more exciting that it otherwise might be.

We should hear which of these actresses has joined Baywatch soon. Who are you rooting for?
