It has been reported recently that Harrison Ford is considered a co-lead alongside three of the younger actors in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars Episode VII, and the reason for Han Solo’s larger role in the movie makes sense when looked at alongside a new rumour about the character Adam Driver will be playing.
According to Jedi News, they’ve heard that the Tracks star will be playing the son of Han and Leia, and he will apparently be seduced by the dark side, something which serves as a main plot point of the movie as his family then attempt to rescue him.
This would be an interesting direction to take Star Wars Episode VII in and certainly explains why we might see Han head into battle once again alongside a younger group of characters to bring his son back to the side of good. This is of course sure to be the first of many more rumours to come!
What this would mean for Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia is unclear, but as the former took centre stage in the original Star Wars trilogy, giving Han the chance to step up in order to stop his son from becoming a Sith would be a very interesting dynamic, especially as he would likely blame Luke and Leia’s connection to the force for it happening in the first place!
