Aaron Johnson (Chatroom, Kick-Ass) has signed on to star in a feature film adaptation of the Broadway hit The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs.

Johnson will star opposite Glenn Close, Mia Wasikowska and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.

Orlando Bloom and Amanda Seyfried were previously attached, but both dropped out when filming was postponed earlier this year.

Albert Nobbs, a story of a woman (Close) in 19th Century Ireland who disguises herself as a man in order to survive, will be directed by Rodrigo Garcia (Things You Can Tell Just By Looking at Her) from a script by John Banville and [Glenn] Close.

Production is set to commence shortly on-location in Dublin, Ireland.
