There’s a new trailer for A Monster Calls in the wild today, showing off J. A. Bayona’s latest film in its full glory. The film stars Liam Neeson, Sigourney Weaver and Felicity Jones so there’s plenty of talent on offer, and there’s a lot of love out there for the book by Patrick Ness.

What’s nice about this is that Neeson himself introduces the trailer to us, in that slightly ominous gravel-toned way of his. We won’t be seeing on screen of course, he lends that distinct brogue to the titular monster, which is shown off greatly in this new trailer.

Synopsis!

A visually spectacular drama from acclaimed director Juan Antonio Bayona (“The Impossible”), based on the award-winning fantasy novel. 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith. Also featuring Liam Neeson who will star in performance-capture and voiceover as the nocturnally visiting monster of the title, and Sigourney Weaver as the maternal grandmother.
