Due out in the UK at the end of next month, Ben Wheatley’s Sightseers sees the director return behind the camera following last year’s acclaimed Kill List.

Premiering at Cannes earlier in the year, and getting its North American debut at TIFF last month – you can read our review hereEmpire have debuted four new characters for the film, following the trailer we saw over the summer.

“Chris (Steve Oram THE MIGHTY BOOSH) wants to show Tina (Alice Lowe GARTH MARENGHI’S DARK PLACE) his world and he wants to do it his way – on a journey through the British Isles in his beloved Abbey Oxford Caravan. Tina’s led a sheltered life and there are things that Chris needs her to see – the Crich Tramway Museum, the Ribblehead Viaduct, the Keswick Pencil Museum and the rolling countryside that accompanies these wonders in his life.

But it doesn’t take long for the dream to fade. Litterbugs, noisy teenagers and pre-booked caravan sites, not to mention Tina’s meddling mother, soon conspire to shatter Chris’s dreams and send him, and anyone who rubs him up the wrong way, over a very jagged edge…”

Wheatley is directing from a script co-written by Alice Lowe and Steve Oram, both of whom also star in the leads, with the ever-brilliant Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) serving as executive producer.

Sightseers will be getting its UK premiere at the BFI London Film Festival this month, and will then head into theatres for a 30th November release in the UK and Ireland. No word yet on when it can be expected across the Atlantic, but hopefully it will arrive in the US before the year’s end. For now, here are the great new posters, which you can click through to enlarge.
