With his Comic-Con documentary, Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope, heading to theatres in America earlier this month, Morgan Spurlock’s (Supersize Me) latest documentary, Mansome, is also set to be unveiled this month, and this week we have three new clips to show from it.

Set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on 21st April, Mansome is hosted by Arrested Development‘s Jason Bateman and Will Arnett, who are also the doc’s producers alongside Ben Silverman.

Centring around the trend of male grooming, the documentary looks at what it means in terms of defining masculinity as a whole. Travelling to traditional barbershops and trendy salons across America, as well as attending an international beard contest in Austria and featuring interviews from Arnett, Bateman, Paul Rudd, Zach Galifianakis, and many others, Spurlock sets out to uncover the true secrets of being “mansome.”

Here’s the full synopsis:

Wild chops, muttons, and handlebars are not just gamey cuts of meat or motorcycle accessories anymore. They are terms in a manscaping lexicon that celebrate hairy achievements in an age when guys seem to care more about trimming their chin curtains and waxing their backs than growing chest hair. With today’s men getting just as many spa treatments as women, and with a slew of new products aiming to freshen and sculpt all manly parts, does all this newfound grooming influence the age-old question of what it means to be a man, or have dudes just finally succumbed to human hygiene?

After premiering at the Tribeca festival later this month, the film will be released in theatres on 18th May in the US, but I’m not sure when we will be able to see the doc over here in the UK as of yet. It does look pretty great though, so hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.
