Yesterday we got to hear from Writer / Director Rian Johnson for his new movie Looper and today we get to hear from the star of the film himself, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (JGL). Joseph has been acting since he was six years old and has an incredibly impressive CV. He’s got a new movie with Steven Spielberg coming up called Lincoln and has recently worked with Christopher Nolan on both Inception and The Dark Knight Rises. When you look down on his list of movies, you see just how many recognisable movies he’s done and Looper will be yet another.

This is his first lead role in an action movie where he plays a character called Joe who has to fight his future self (Bruce Willis) in a brilliant original story from Rian Johnson. JGL and Johnson worked together back in 2005 on a movie called Brick and they’ve been close friends ever since. Brick was a very small indie movie and Looper very much isn’t! I ask Joseph how his friend and Director has changed since making the 2005 film and things they’ve learnt along the way.

We also get to find out how he was able to take on the persona of his older self, Bruce Willis, how he felt about taking on that role and which movies he watched to help get into the Willis spirit! Like Johnson, I also ask JGL about working with Pierce Gagnon, a 5 year old actor who is simply brilliant in the movie and what it was like acting opposite him. We end talking about his movie that he shot with Spielberg called Lincoln and he tells us it’s going to blow us away.

Looper is out this Friday 28th September and is a must-see. Thanks to both Rian and Joseph for their time to talk about Looper.
