Liam Neeson returns to the big screen next month in Taken 2, the action-thriller sequel to 2010’s incredibly successful blockbuster original, which turned its m. into more than 0m.

Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) is behind the camera this time around, and after getting two new featurettes from the film at the start of the week, we’ve got two new clips to share, the first of which comes courtesy of Apple, in which we have grenades and guns galore.

“Bryan Mills is the retired CIA agent with a “particular set of skills” who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers. When the father of one of the villains Bryan killed swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape. Bryan then employs his unique tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers, one by one.”

Megaton is directing from a script once more penned by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, with the excellent Maggie Grace reprising her role alongside Neeson and Famke Janssen, and Rade Serbedzija (Snatch) starring as the lead antagonist.

Taken 2 will be hitting UK theatres on 4th October, followed by a 5th October release in the US. It’s the only actioner opening that weekend, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it at the top of the box office here and Stateside, but will be facing some competition in the US from Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie. For now, here are the two new clips to give you a taste of the action ride in store for us in a few weeks’ time.
