Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is the latest name to be attached to Star Wars Episode VII, with a new report claiming that she met with J.J. Abrams only a few weeks ago, just before her big win at the Academy Awards.
Nyong’o is said to be “extremely close” to signing a deal after reading for the mysterious role several times over the past month or so. While there has been speculation that she could play a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi (which was originally described as being a non-Caucasian character), it is instead believed the actress is up for the part of a Sith.
They’re all the details we have for now, but with the hunt for the male lead being narrowed down to five and Girls star Adam Driver set to play the lead male villain, things are getting very interesting indeed!
