4. The Daily Bugle

J. Jonah Jameson and The Daily Bugle were missing from The Amazing Spider-Man, and it doesn’t appear as if either will have a major presence in the sequel either. Could it be that Marc Webb and the team behind the movie are reluctant to try and replace the brilliant J.K. Simmons as the loudmouth newspaper editor?

You can’t blame them if that is the case, but it’s a shame to leave this part of Spider-Man’s universe unexplored. A television series starring a reporter like Betty Brant or Ben Urich as the lead character would be the perfect way to exploit these characters, as it could be crammed full of references to Spidey’s world and the various villains and heroes who inhabit it without having too much of a direct impact on the film franchise.
