7. Justice League
With 2015’s Batman Vs. Superman movie sounding more and more like the big screen debut of the Justice League, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s rebooted version of the superhero team – part of the line wide “The New 52” relaunch – is the perfect place for new fans to start! The first six issue arc covers the formation of the team, although they do come to blows before finally putting their differences aside. Batman stealing Green Lantern’s ring straight from his finger and a battle between the latter and Superman are definite highlights. Ultimately, the main villain of this alien invasion story arc is revealed to be Darkseid, and as he’s a character who is likely to come into play in any future live-action Justice League adaptation, this is an essential purchase and a generally amazing story!
