Yesterday, we got the news that the BBFC had decided to grant Tom Six’s The Human Centipede 2 [Full Sequence] an 18 rating, which means that it will in fact be coming to UK cinemas after all, after initially being refused a rating and banned from a release in the UK.

The rating has only been granted on the basis that a number of scenes are cut from the film, and if you read a description of those scene (which you can do here), then it’s easier to understand why the BBFC are letting this go through.

Essentially, all the scenes they initially had a problem with will be cut from the film – and they sound like pretty horrendous scenes, so that’s not a bad thing in my book. Granted, the film will be very different to how viewers elsewhere in the world will be seeing it, but so be it.

A new poster for the film has debuted over at ShockTillYouDrop, via ComingSoon.net, and just like the film itself looks to be, it’s more than a little bit distasteful. As such, we’ve decided to protect those who might not want to see it (undoubtedly, just saying that is going to make you want to see it, but there’s really no need unless you’re a fan of the new franchise). So the image below is just a small portion of the bigger picture, and if you’d like to see the whole thing, then all you have to do is click and it will enlarge. The choice is yours.

Essentially, it shows a centipede crawling from up in between a naked lady’s legs – not nice. It may not be explicit, but it is worth avoiding.

News also comes from The Playlist that writer-director Six is already planning The Human Centipede 3 [Final Sequence]. He’s almost finished with the script, and financing is ready, and he says he will be heading to the States for the third film, following on from the first being shot in the Netherlands and the second being filmed in England.

“I knew I wanted to make three films, and I wanted to start with the psychological horror because I wanted the audience to first get used to that sick idea.  I knew in part two, I’d go full force and show everything—and that’s what people wanted, also. But each film is very different, and the third film is a very different film, again, and there I will use my final ideas. It’s called ‘The Final Sequence,’ and so I used up all of my ideas in three films.”

So if you’re a fan of this new franchise, then you can look forward to a third film coming in the next year or two. And if you’re not, then you can probably look forward to hearing about the third film having to cut itself down before getting a BBFC rating again. We shall see. Without further ado, here’s the new poster from the second film, which should be getting its UK release date announced next week. Click to enlarge the poster to its full size (though I wouldn’t recommend it).
